Off Like a Herd of Turtles!

Or just off like one turtle. This morning, after the race, we were driving up our street and STOP! There was a turtle crossing the street. Seth pulled over, and hopped out to help the turtle across the street. Well, I have never been a guardian of a turtle, and so with a little batting of my eyelashes, Seth put the turtle on the backseat and we headed home. We grabbed a box from the garage and placed the yet-to-be-named turtle in the box, in the shade. I had to grab a quick shower before work, so we ran inside for an hour or so, before heading to work, Seth gathered up some grub for the turtle and we headed out, so excited to feed our new friend. What a surprise to our eyes, when we peeked over the edge of the box and discovered NOTHING! The turtle had escaped! We didn't even have a chance to name her! I hope she's happy.

Oh no! That totally reminds me of when my fam lived in Oklahoma for a summer. People would seriously try to hit the poor little ones, so every night my fam would cruise up and down the mainroad in our van and rescue the turtles only to take them home to our ONE bedroom appartment (yes, there were 7 of us!) plus all the turtles we could fit inside a small kid swimming pool!! Honestly, it was hilarious. We numbered them with nail polish on the shells to keep track, and when we moved back to UT we brought em' all home and handed them out like candy to the neighbors!! Lol...oh the fun. I hope your little friend returns so you too can enjoy the roles of turtle watchers! Love ya ger!! :)
