Ahhh, the "Fun Bus" who knew it could be so much fun! Me, Steph, E-Beth, Mel and Sarah headed out to have some FUN before Steph leaves us for Boise. We ladies caught the fun bus Friday night around 6 pm and headed to Wendover. (For those non-locals, Wendover is a podunk town on the Utah-Nevada border, it's only claim to fame would seem to be that it is home to the closest casinos for SLC) E-Beth won some serious fun bus money for us by getting black-out in Bingo on the way. We were all impressed, considering she officially had the 2nd worst card the game before. We arrived in Wendover, and the reality of spending 6 hours in this sweet town seth in. Some were worried of how to spend 6 hours in Wendover...it's not THAT exciting...but somehow we managed. We spent a couple of hours at the buffet, hung out in the restroom, played some cards, hit up the penny-slots, I'd like to say I was the best at penny-slots, but when it came down to it, the penny-slots beat all of us. The bus doesn't pick up until 2 am, and Mel had become so tired that she appeared drunk. Maybe it was the falling right on her face on the lawn that would cause people to question her sobriety. I don't know... The ride home was most enjoyable- the two hour trip turned into three. E-Beth and my two person seat turned into three. We made USU friends for E-Beth, even if she can't figure out what her interests are. Poor Kenny had us laughing, unfortunately for him it was AT him and not WITH him. When he suggested wandering off on the Salt Flats like Man vs. Wild, E-Beth and I were more than willing to donate our water bottles and send him on his way. (Hopefully he takes his necklaces off first, in case he runs into a wild animal)
We arrived in SLC around 5:30 am and I crawled into bed around 6 only to be back up at 8 for work. Ah, the wild life :)
