Seth and I headed down to his parents' house Friday morning to lend a helping hand (or just get in the way!). Seth's mom just had surgery and they are trying to prep their house to go on the market. Seth went straight to work assisting his dad in painting, raking, moving furniture, cleaning and any other odd job that was needed. I took over the job as cook of the household. Seth's Aunt Gloria and his cousin, Emily came down as well. It was very fun visiting with everyone. Seth and I had to head home Saturday night, but hopefully we were of some help to them. We'll keep our fingers crossed that the house sells relatively soon!

words cannot express the joy it brought to all of us to have you here last weekend. your dad's list of things to do was longer than possible to accomplish, yet with your help it was all done--the hall painting, the front door puttying, the double bed to the outer corner at an angle moving, the mold off the the north side of the house washing, the leaf raking, the pep boy's run for a new battery and the food lion run for groceries, and air in the tire for the newly energized blue car. i knew we were in for great feasts when i saw your famous "kiss the cook" notebook. the chicken rolls friday and pancakes with cheese egg beaters that fooled even jth saturday morning were great. i loved my 30 minute outing to find the green enchilada sauce. smelling the roast pork slow cooking 8 hours was a treat in itself as we enjoyed the nick's subs from aunt glo for lunch. dinner with the cilantro rice and shredded sweet pork, black beans, lettuce, homemade salsa and green creamy sauce with tortillas was so good i couldn't stop eating. thank you for preparing whole recipes, leaving plenty of "planned overs" that i froze and we enjoyed some last week and plan to enjoy the last of your masterpieces this week. i especially appreciate all the dishes you did to feed so many with such delights. your company is always enjoyed--i especially loved watching the hungary episodes from my friend's rick steves europe collection. (she kindly left it with me so i could "visit" europe while resting and healing). it is good to see what a beautiful place elder doug is is called to. what beautiful people to serve.!!
the open house yesterday was good. one woman walked through, then went and returned with her husband to show him. another couple walked through, then came back a few hours later to see it again. the positive comments reflected directly on your help and efforts in our behalf. THANK YOU TEAM HALSEY--YOUR RESCUE WAS TIMELY AND WELL EXECUTED!! we love you! mom and all
