Hazel has worn her swimsuit a.l.l. winter.
She has asked to go swimming an average of 18 times a week.
She has become an expert on the weather, and according to her, as long as it is sunny outside it should be warm enough to swim.
(it didn't help that it never got COLD this winter, still, 50* and sunny is still too chilly for the pool)
Today was her day.
She calmly waited while
I wrangled the little pool away from the spider webs,
inflated the the pool "sides",
and rinsed out the dead worms.
She patiently waited for
Averett to take his morning nap,
lunch to be prepared and cleaned up,
and the sunscreen to soak in.
FINALLY it was go time.
Pure JOY.
Two solid hours of splish-ing and splash-ing.
The kids were back in the pool with Seth, two minutes after naps were over.
Hazel was having so much fun sliding into the pool, Averett wanted in on the action.
It just took a little pep-talk from big sister.
I think this was the best day Hazel has had in week...months...
They were having so much fun, no one noticed I never finished filling the pool up, and that only two of the three rings were inflated, thanks to a hole.
Looks like our little pool, in all its little glory, is still a winner.
We are looking forward to many more days/evenings in the backyard.
